Quality and Sustainable Development
The Saint-Gobain Group has a strong commitment towards continuous improvement in the field of Quality, and Environment, Health & Safety. As a member of this Group, the SiC Department obviously shares this "no-compromise" commitment, while translating it to the specificities of the industries we serve.
All our products are manufactured in accordance with international standards (for instance, the FEPA or JIS standards), or customized to fulfill the specific customer’s demands. Our modern Quality and EHS systems operate in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001. Copies of the certificates are available upon request.
Beyond standard certification, we have implemented a number of programs to control very strictly our manufacturing processes and to share best practices among all our sites.
In particular, the »Acheson Process«, used to manufacture the SiC crude, is a demanding process that requires a lot of our attention. In the frame of our »no-compromise« policy, we have decided to keep this process in-house, in order to produce SiC crude with consistently good quality and with high health and safety standards.
Our R&D teams are actively involved to permanently tune this process towards increased quality of the products and increased safety for the workers.
Our production teams have developed original solutions to protect workers from dust and fumes. We have established strict health and safety standards applicable in all our operations worldwide.
Audits are regularly performed in all our plants to check the implementation of these standards.
